RECAP. A Beautiful Dumpster Fire. Pens WIN

 4
1

The Pens made their first trip to Philly this season where they have resorted to calling Sidney Crosby a "Squid".  Ok then.  They Flyers are an absolute mess.  We aren't complaining by any means, just stating facts.  They can't score.  Their defense sucks.  Their goalies suck.  And their Captain is a giant tool.  The first period was whatever.  Deryk Engelland was playing 4th line right wing.  Yep.  The 2nd period wall all Pens for 19 minutes and 58 seconds.  They were all over the Flyers and finally cashed in.  Evgeni Malkin was a one man fore check and kept the puck in the Flyers zone multiple times.  He finally got the puck to Double J who fired a wrist shot by Steve Mason to make it 1-nil Pens.  If Steve Mason was playing like Steve Mason this game would have been 5-nil by now.  But it wasn't.  Pens would cash in again soon after when Kunitz controlled a rebound and buried it to make it 2-nil.  Flyers would get one back with 2 seconds left when Wayne Simmonds deflected one in to make it 2-1.  Robert Bortuzzo kill Zac Rinaldo at some point in the 2nd.  The Flyers were in the Pens mouths to start the 3rd.  The goal late woke them up.  Pens were trapped in their own zone for a good portion of the period.  MAF was there to bail them out though.  He robbed Wayne Simmonds at one point.  The Pens would finally put the game away though.  After a turnover by the Flyers Pascal Dupuis hit Best In The World with a sick shot pass.  Best In The World buried it.  3-1.  Geno would get an empty netter to make it 4-1.

Stuff:
  • Pretty boring game for it being Pens/Flyers.  Flyers looked completely uninterested at points.
  • There is absolutely no reason for Olli Maatta  to be sent back to Juniors.  You'll forget about him at some point in the game then he'll make some big time play.  He did that multiple times this game.  Like we said before.  If he's sent back to Juniors Bylsma and Shero should be arrested.
  • Best In The World continues his point streak.
  • Once again Deryk Engelland played on the 4th line.  He looked lost most of the night minus one or two plays.
  • Marc.  Andre.  Fleury.

Pens next game is Saturday at 1 vs Vancouver.

Go Pens
