Gameday 39. Pens vs. Canadiens

Consol Energy Center - 7 PM
TV: ROOT Sports
Radio: 105.9 The X

Tonight, the Montreal Canadiens come to town as they meet the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Penguins enter tonights game with a record of 24-9-5 which is good for 53 points and the top spot in the Metropolitian Division. Montreal on the other hand is entering tonight sitting in first place in the Atlantic, with a record of 25-11-2. Both teams are coming off victories last night, the Penguins winning 6-3 over Tampa and Montreal winning 4-2 over New Jersey. Tonight is also the first time newly aquired David Perron will put on a Penguins jersey as he makes his debut for Pittsburgh. It's looking like Perron will play along side Sidney Crosby tonight, so look for Sid to set up him with some unreal pass for Perron's first goal as a Penguin.

#GameNotes:
  • David Perron will wear number 39, the same number he wore in juniors.
  • Perron has scored 5 goals and 14 assists for 19 points through 38 games played. Those games were played in Edmonton however, so keep that in mind.
  • Unless you have been living under a rock, you know that the Steelers also have a playoff game against the Ravens tonight. We reached out to die hard Penguins fan Gwendolyn for her #thoughts on there being two Pittsburgh sporting event going on at once, however she has not responded yet. We will update the story when she gets back to us.
  • The Penguins will show how "beyond classy" they are and will be showing the Steelers game on the big screen at the conclusion of the hockey game. No word on how this tactic will effect #BeatTheTraffic.
  • Shoutout to Mike Leggo, reffing tonights game after puking Pittsburgh Gold all over the ice last night. What a warrior.
  • Hopefully Steve Downie puts PK Subban through a flaming table tonight.
  • Flacco sucks.
  • Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
