Game Day - Game 41 Penguins vs Canadiens

(24-10-6) 2ND IN THE METRO!!!!

(26-12-2)

Well Penguins fans, here we are, January 10 and the Penguins are second in the Metro. It's that time of the year where overreaction, mass panic, trade Crosby posts begin to come about. However, there are some positives. Players are slowly returning to health and #MumpsGate is finally over, in addition, Crosby's winger is finally here, so another piece of the Penguins puzzle is in place.  Relief is in sight, however the Penguins will face a very tough Montreal team tonight. If you remember correctly, the Canadiens thrashed the Penguins at home last Saturday in David Perron's Consol / Penguins debut 4-1. The Penguins only have two wins in their last eight games and Crosby has gone through a scoring draught as of late and it has really caused quite the uproar on certain "Fan Pages." The powerplay is getting looks but still playing bad, as the PK and PP have switch in terms of the Penguins strength. Either way, it's 'Hockey Night in Canada' and it would obviously be clutch as hell if the Penguins could pull two points out of this one. But just remember this, it's a random game in January. The Penguins will improve, will learn, will adjust in the future, so honestly a loss is not the end of the world.

What to watch for:
  • The lines have been shuffled and Crosby is back with Kunitz
  • Iron man Beau Bennett will play in his 5th straight game and is playing good hockey
  • Evgeni Malkin has recorded a point in 30/40 games this season
  • The Penguins are 11-2-3 against the Atlantic Division this season
  • Look for Craig Adams to run one of his own teammates out there, so Malkin especially should keep his head up tonight
  • If Crosby's gonna break out of a slump, the Canadiens are the team to do it against
    •  16 goals, 21 assists in his career against Montreal = 37 points
