Gameday. Game 5. Rangers at Pens

Consol Energy Center. 7PM. NBCSN

Tonight the Penguins have a chance to put the wrap on not only this series, but the hopes of Rangers fans everywhere. The Penguins are expecting the Rangers to not hold anything back and bring their best game of the series tonight. However, the Rangers may be missing a key lineup component as Marty St.Louis is dealing with the sudden tragic death of his mother. St. Louis is said to be listed as a "game time decision" but we shall see. On a lighter note, the Pens have really got to their game lately, playing some of their better hockey as of late, especially the brick wall in net, Marc-Andre Fleury. If the Penguins can score first, because when it's the Pens and Rangers whoever scores first automatically wins, look for the Pens to close this out tonight.

Notes:
  • Rangers powerplay is 0 for their last 36 and 3/42 in the 2014 playoffs
  • Fleury is third in save percentage (.922) and first in post-season wins with 7
  • Brandon Sutter is coming alive as the third line center he was meant to be, leading the post season as a plus 10, and killing it in the faceoff circle (Game 1: 53.33% Game 2: 69.23%, Game 3:57.89%, Game 4: 61.54%)
  • Jussi Jokinen is a post season player, registering 6 goals and 3 assists, and only getting better
  • Paul Martin is currently anchoring the Pens D, playing almost 30 minutes a night and being +9 throughout the post season so far
  • Rick Nash (I think he plays for the Rangers) has 4 assists in 11 post season games this season
LEGGGGGGGO.
