RECAP. It's Sidney Crosby's World Pens WIN.

3

2

This is Sidney Crosby's world, we're all just lucky to be living in it. The scoring race between Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby is going to be an unbelievable ride the rest of this season. Those two are at the top of their game right now and it's fun to watch. Pens probably had no business winning this game, but they did and now are 9 points ahead of the Caps for the lead in the Metro. The Pens still have problems, but they're finding ways to win. It's only December so no worries right now.

This wasn't the ideal of a start the Penguins were hoping for. The first 10 minutes or so was back and forth, both goalies were making good saves. Then Okposo and Tavares came in, Letang crashed Tavares into Fleury, Fleury's pad came up, the puck hit something and went in. No clue what happened. 1-0 Isles. Then a few minutes later, Okposo scored an NHL 14 glitch goal, one that Fleury probably would like to have back. 2-0 Isles. Then not long after that, Okposo clanged one off the post and almost got a natural hat trick. The Isles decided to take two dumb penalties and gave the Pens a 5 on 3 to end the period. That powerplay kind of game the Pens a little bit of momentum.

You could quietly feel the game changing at the start of the period and Fleury did a good job to keep the Pens in the game. Not a lot happened throughout most of the period, but once again, the Pens got a powerplay and this time, Evgeni Malkin and James Neal made the Isles pay. Malkin with the Dominic Moore play to Neal and Neal buried the puck to cut the lead in half. With that assist, Malkin tied Crosby with 37 points for the NHL lead.

After the late goal in the second, you could feel the Isles we're gonna do whatever they could do to stay in this game and at least fight for a point. The Pens were all up in their nuts and pretty much dominated the entire period, but Nilsson would have none of that in the Isles net, and it looked like one of those games where the Pens would dominate but just couldn't get anything in the net. Then the Isles took another stupid penalty. At the beginning of the power play, Letang got called for a soft call on a breakaway and gave some guy a Penalty shot, I would say which Isle it was, but it's irrelevant cuz MAF was all over it. Then Malkin and Best in the World made them pay. What a one timer.
Late in the period, Malkin got called for some penalty, Isles had a decent PP going and then Vanek lost his shit and took an even up call. Not sure what actually happened.

Overtime started 3 on 3. Then the Pens got a power play with Letang, Crosby, Malkin, and Neal. Pens should score on that every time, but Nilsson had other thoughts. Then the penalty expired, a minute or so passed and Bylsma got Neal and Crosby out together. I'm not even gonna try to explain what happened.

Game.

1. Sidney Crosby
2. Kyle Okposo
3. Evgeni Malkin
