Flipping the Script. Pens WIN

 5
4

In hockey, or any sport for that matter, there are your run of the mill wins then there are the wins the Pens got last night in Philadelphia.  The Pens fell behind 4-1 in the 1st period and showed less composure than a teenage boy seeing boobs for the 1st time.  But the way this season has gone you knew the Pens weren't out of it.  They battles all the way back and picked up, probably, their biggest win of the season so far.  Pens magic number is 42.  42 points will earn them a playoff spot.  I know it's kind of early to talk about that but half way through a shortened season and the Pens need 5 wins to grab a playoff spot.  If the could also get some consistent play they could run away with the division too.

1st Period
The 1st period was a snoozer for about the firs 5-10 minutes.  MAF made some nice saves on Chode and Matt Read.  The Flyers crowd seemed so uninterested.  They were quiet, half hearted boo's when Sid had the puck, pathetic "Crosby sucks" chants.  All the Pens needed was to net 2 early in the game and it would have been smooth sailing.  But that didn't happen because why would it with this team.  James Neal took an "elbowing" penalty.  Worst penalty call in a Pens-Flyers game ever.  Neal's elbows didn't come close to Chode.  Flyers cashed in.  Penguin killer Jakub Vorasuck scored to make it 1-0.  Rumor is he actually does kill Penguins on the side.  Unconfirmed though.  After that goal James Neal came out of the box and Hartnell's mop chirped Neal.  The 2 exchanges some pushes.  Mop head got an extra 2 minutes.  Pens power play went to work.  We'll give you 3 guesses who scored for the Pens.  Your first 2 don't count.  If you guessed the scoring machine Chris Kunitz then you are correct.  1-1.  But that wouldn't last long.  Pens got sucked in to the Flyers shenanigans again.  They took a penalty and killed it off but Zac Rinaldo of all people put a rebound home to make it 2-1.  If you didn't almost vomit after that goal then you should stop watching hockey.  Then Kimo Timonen through a harmless shot to the net that deflected off of Deryk Engelland and in.  3-1.  Then Hartnell's mop deflected a shot past MAF to make it 4-1.

2nd Period
We don't know what happened in the locker room in between periods.  We also are never going to know.  But whatever it was worked and worked to perfection.  Tomas Vokoun replaced MAF to start the 2nd.  The Pens went to work.  Bennett-Malkin-Neal caused some havoc but couldn't score.  Then the 1st line goes to work.  Best In The World found Duper who had an open net. He beat the scrambling Bryzgalov to make it 4-2.  Beau Bennett had 1 of the 2 shifts of his life after that.  The other game later were he back checked like his dick was on the line and deflected a shot into the netting.  On this one though he worked his ass off to get the puck in the Flyers zone.  He finally got it after one of the best fore checking displays we've seen this season.  He got the puck to Neal who tried to hit Geno in front but instead hit Brayden Cobourn.  The puck trickled under Bryz to make it 4-3.  Lavy called his "Pens scored 2 unanswered goal" timeout after that.  Usually what happens hear is the Flyers go scored 14 goals or something.  Not this time.  Best In The World drew a penalty.  Pens didn't get anything.  Soon after though Cooke-Sutter-TK line went to work.  The play developed and you saw TK winding up for a one timer in the high slot.  No matter how much you hate TK you knew it was coming.  He got the puck in his wheel house and fired one past Bryz.  4-4.  Best thing about TK scoring is it ups his trade value.  Bryz got pulled for Bobby Boucher.  Mark Eaton blocked a shot with about 30 second left in the period.  Big time play in this game

3rd Period
18 second in to the 3rd who else but Chirs Kunitz scored to make it 5-4 Pens.  Pens had some more chances to scored but couldn't.  Malkin-Bennett-Neal had a few unreal shifts.  They were creating shit all game.  Then the Pens went into "don't blow this mode".  The Flyers through everything they had at the Pens but couldn't beat Vokoun.  He made a couple big saves on Danny Briere late in the period.  It looked as if the Flyers had tied it but Hartnell's mop deflected the puck with a high stick.  Sucks to suck.  The Pens would hold on to win 5-4.
