Trade Deadline Summary

So if you were in the Ukraine or some shit yesterday and you have no idea what moves Ray Shero made yesterday, here you go.

Marcel Goc

2015 3rd Round Pick
2014 2nd Round Pick

Our take on Goc that he's tough as shit to play against. Bolsters the Bottom 6. The only problem is that he's a Center. Byslma did mention today that Brandon Sutter could jump up to the 2nd Line at times and Geno could jump up with Sid and Kunitz. Goc is instantly the 8th leading scorer on the Penguins this season and should add some much needed depth to the roster.

Lee Stempniak

2014 3rd Round Pick

Our take is that Stempniak is very similar to Pascal Dupuis. Stempniak is the type of player who can give you minutes with Sidney Crosby or give you minutes with Sutter. Shero gave up a 3rd round pick in a really weak draft class to get Stempniak and we're okay with that. What we really wanted to add to this team was depth and Shero did just that.

We're surprised Brian Burke was able to make a move after the interview he gave on TSN yesterday. We aren't sure if he knows yesterday was the deadline.
He looked something like this

Garth Snow almost did the most Islanders thing ever and almost forgot to trade Tomas Vanek. What an idiot.

Glen Sather gave up everything, including the Statue of Liberty for Martin St. Louis.

Ranger blue doesn't make him look any taller.

Rick Nash doesn't have Ryan Callahan to hide behind anymore

Shero was rumored going for Ryan Kesler but that deal apparantly fell through. One reason was the fact that it was announced today that Mike Gillis apparantly wanted Olli Maatta in the deal. Shero probably laughed at him and said peace.

After sitting back last night and looking at everyone after the dust settled on the deadline, we are pretty pleased with the moves that Shero made and the only team who probably actually got better in the Eastern Conference was Washington.

Twenty games or something left. Hold on to your seats because this is about to get nuts.

Go Pens.
