Game Day: Game 11 Penguins at Wild

Television: ROOT Sports

Radio: 105.9 The X

8PM Xcel Energy Center

(7-2-1 First in the Metrosexual Division)

(7-3-0 Tied for 7th in the Western Conference)

The Pittsburgh Penguins will face the Minnesota Wild tonight at 8PM at the Xcel Energy Center. During the four game winning streak the Penguins have outscored opponents 19-3, have gone 10/21 (47.6%) on the powerplay and killed 14/14 (100% geniuses) of their recent penalty kills. One thing to note: Minnesota is NOT the Buffalo Sabres. The Wild are unbeaten at home (5-0-0). The Wild have outscored opponents 21-6 while playing at home in five games. The Pens are averaging the most goals per game in the NHL at 4.1 goals per game, while the Wild have the best goals against average 1.8 in the league while the Penguins sit at 2.2 goals against per game (11th in the NHL). Basically tonight is a battle of two good hockey teams, which after playing the BuffaLOL Sabres the Penguins are due for a good contest. One thing is for sure, neither of these two teams will be in the running for Connor McDavid come season's end.

What to Watch for:
  • Sidney Crosby is coming off being named second star of October for the NHL recording 7 goals, 8 assists (15 points because logic) in 10 games played
  • Marc Andre Fleury was named NHL's 3rd star of the week, recording 3 wins with 2 shutouts and a .959 save percentage
  • Look for Robert Bortuzzo to be that big defensive presence as the Penguins get him back tonight with Maatta going on the shelf for surgery
  •  Malkin has also played some unreal hockey, recording 5 goals and 10 assists in 10 games
  • Penguins powerplay (good lord) look for them to continue to put in numbers going for their 5th straight win
  • No Matt 'Runs with Elbows' Cooke for Minnesota tonight
