Is the Red Still Rockin? Pens WIN

The Caps are 2-8-1. Lolololol.  Actually it is kind of sad to see what has become of the Washington Capitals.  We said it last game and we'll say it again.  This team went from prolific, high scoring team to...Ordinary for lack of a better term.  The Caps have talent.  They do.  Why none of it is showing up anymore is beyond us.  You also have to wonder with his recent decline to the Caps use a compliance buyout on Ovi this summer?   Rough times in Caps land.
The Caps actually had an early lead when they scored on some bizarre goal.  Fleury ended up on his back without a helmet but play was allowed to continue and the Caps would score.  No idea why play was allowed to continue.  Usually when a goalie loses his helmet play is stopped.  Whatever.  The Caps had the lead after one.  Then the 2nd period happened.  The Pens tallied 5 goals in the 2nd including 3 on the power play.  The Caps acted like they still had a chance when they made it 5-2 in the 3rd.  Lolz.

3 STARS
1. Evgeni Malkin
2. Sidney Crosby
3. James Neal

Stuff:
  • Another 3 points from Sidney Crosby.  6 game point streak for him.
  • Big night from Evgeni Malkin.  He had 3 points as well
  • Bizarre move by Adam Oates to pull Neuvirth after the Pens made it 2-1.
  • The Pens power play was 3 for 4 WITHOUT Kris Letang who didn't play due to an injury.
  • Once again, unbelievable game from Paul Martin.  Led all Penguins in ice time with 28:08
  • Orpik and Martin pair is playing lights out
  • Solid games from Bortuzzo and Despres again.  Have to wonder what is going to happen once Niskanen comes back.
  • Free Dustin Jeffrey.

Pens next game is Saturday in New Jersey against the Devils at 1
