Forensic This, Pens WIN. WIN Series 4-1

 6
2

The Penguins had their foot on the throats of the Ottawa Senators.  They were up 3-1 on home ice but the Pens hadn't finished out a series on home ice since 2008.  Until last night.  The Pens got up early and never looked back.  The best part about this win is that it prevents a Canadian team from winning the Stanley Cup for another year.  Also the Pens scored 13 goals the past 2 games.  Jesus.  Time to buckle up for a showdown with the Boston Bruins in the Eastern Conference Final.

The first few minutes of the game were pretty meh.  Consol was quite until the Pens started getting some chances.  They finally cashed in when Mark Eaton hit Brenden Morrow with a pass in front of the goal.  Morrow deflected it in to make it 1-0 Pens.  The whole play started by Matt Cooke out hustling some joke to get to a loose puck.  Matt Cooke was everywhere all game long.  Speaking of people that were everywhere, Sidney Crosby.  He was all over the place making shit happen as well.  He got called for the softest hook of all time.  Pens killed off the penalty.

The Pens got a power play early in the 2nd.  Some idiot cross checked Adams.  Pens power play was flying but couldn't cash in.  The 2nd unit came on for a bit.  Did something then went off.  The first unit came back out a cashed in.  Anderson couldn't find the puck in the crease and James Neal poked it home for his 1st to make it 2-0 Pens.  Chris Neil might be the dumbest hockey player of all time.  He took another penalty and put his team shorthanded again.  Malkin ruined it though so play went to 4 on 4.  The Pens talent took over.  Letang scooped up the puck, cut to the middle all by himself.  Snipe job.  3-0.  Sens scored some dumb goal to make it 3-1.  Flashbacks of other series started to creep in to your head.  Even if you don't want to admit it they did.  But this is a different Penguins team.  They didn't let the Sens get back into it.  Vokoun was money again.  James Neal picked up the puck in the neutral zone and fired a pass to Geno.  Geno was in by himself. 4-1 Pens.

The Sens had to kill penalties for a good portion of the beginning of the 3rd.  Chris Neil decided to shove is stick into Douglas Murray's sack.  Pens didn't get anything on the power play.  The Sens were technically still in it but not really.  Then the Pens pretty much put them out of their misery.  Gonch had a horrible turnover and James Neal beat Anderson to make it 5-1.  Consol started to sing the Sens out of town.  Then Ottawa scored.  Whatever.  The Pens added a goal for good measure.  For as good as people make Erik Karlsson sound he was embarrassing this season.  2 times he got undressed by Sidney Crosby.  This time it was James Neal.  He drug the puck around Karlsson and sniped Anderson for the hat trick.  6-2.  Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Sens.

1. James Neal
2. Kris Letang
3. Evgeni Malkin

Stuff:
  • James Neal is getting in a grove
  • Whenever Evgeni Malkin isn't turning the puck over he is on another level.
  • Sidney Crosby is on another planet.  He is everywhere.  Hes fired up.  Hes playing some kind of hockey that I don't think we've ever seen from him.
  • Kris Letang is kinda good at hockey.
  • Tomas Vokoun is in a groove.
  • Good thing the Pens fired Bylsma.

The Pens are going to play Double J and the Bruins in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Dates and times to be determined.

Go Pens
