This Date in Jagr History: February 4, 1997

Last night Jaromir Jagr and the New Jersey Devils met the Ottawa Senators at the Prudential Center. The Devils won by the final score of 2-1 thanks to a Mike Cammalleri goal assisted by none other than the great Double J.

Double J city. Gets the takeaway, does his thing in the corner, and then dishes an #elite pass to Cammalleri for the goal. Imagine him wearing Pittsburgh Gold and setting up Malkin like that... god help us all.

On February 15, Double J will be turning 43. We were tossing around ideas for what we could do and we decided that we would be hosting "The 2015 #BringHomeDoubleJ Photoshop Expo". Thanks to our own @zackmorris82 the bar has already been set very high. Follow @IsJagrHomeYet for all of his photo shopping magic.

"The Jagr is coming, The Jagr is coming!!"

You have until the 14th to send your best stuff to zjm1001@sru.edu. We will pick the best one and you will be announced as Champion.

February 4, 1997:

Vancouver Canucks - 4
Pittsburgh Penguins - 6

Jagr scored 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points during this 1997 win over the Vancouver Canucks. Jagr's goal came after an unreal keep in and pass by Jason Wooley. The Penguins scored again seconds later, Darius Kasparaitis and Joe Mullen. All the feels.

Mike Lange FTW

This isn't exactly Jagr related but it had to be included. Mario Lemieuex was going for his 600th goal in the National Hockey League on that night. We found the pregame stuff from FSN Pittsburgh for that game. Paul Steigerwald had actual hair, so it is pretty unreal.

Then with time running out and the Canucks net empty, Mario Lemiuex did score his 600th goal in front of the Civic Arena crowd. Jaromir Jagr of course got an assist on the historic goal. Mike Lange with an goal call that will give you chills every time you hear it.

"It is Mario Magic. It's his city and it's his moment"
