The Big Bad Bruins made their first appearance at Consol Energy Center this season last night.  Of course Deryk Engelland was in the lineup because the Bruins are a more physical team.  We had every intention of blaming this loss on him being in the lineup because we can but Brandon Sutter had other ideas.  This games was pretty much a snoozer the whole way through so short recap city.  The Bruins got on the board first.  The Pens took a penalty and the Bruins capitalized.  Chara from the point.  1-0.  The Bruins cashed in again when no one covered Tyler Seguin in front.  2-0.  The Bruins had like 5 shots in the 1st period.  The Pens would turn thing on in the 2nd period.  They had a couple power plays but couldn't cash in.  Still down 2-0 heading to the 3rd.  Early in the 3rd the Pens were gifted a 5 on 3.  Claude Julien didn't agree.

Pens couldn't cash in on the 5 on 3 and ended up taking a penalty of their own.  PK rose to the occasion.  The Pens made Anton Khudobin look like Patrick Roy all game.  For some reason they always do that to rookie goalies.  But with under 6 minutes the winds changed.  Kris Letang fed Chris Kunitz a pass.  Kunitz one timed it from Jagrville.  2-1.  51 seconds later Bennett, Neal, Sutter hooked up.  Suttertron with the snipe.  2-2.  Then with a little over 2 minutes to play Dennis Seidenberg had a horrible turnover right to Brandon Sutter.  You knew Suttertron was scoring.  3-2.  Remember when the Flyers ruined Sutter's welcome to Pittsburgh moment.  Well here's your official welcome to Pittsburgh moment Brandon Sutter.  The Pens held on for the 3-2 win.

Stuff:

• Best In The World was held off the score sheet last night.
• Another strong game from Beau Bennett.  He had an assist last night and now has 6 points on the season.  He's looking better and better each game.
• 27:49 of ice time and an assist for Kris Letang.
• Fleury was sharp.  Not much he could do on either goal.
• Bright future for this Anton Khudobin kid.  He was sharp for 54 minutes last night.
• Chris Kunitz is 2nd in the league in goals.  SECOND.  He's like 2 behind Stamjoke or something.
• Tyler Kennedy is awful.
• ROOT Sports sucks.  They had this graphic after the game last night.

Apparently Brent Sutter is a Penguin now.  Worst part about it was Steigy even said Brent Sutter.  Mike Lange doesn't make that mistake.
