News came out over the last hour that the Penguins have re-signed Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury to a 4 year $23 million extension that expires in 2018-19. The deal gives Fleury a $5.75 million cap hit over those 4 years. Fleury is 7-2-0 this year with a 1.89 GAA and .931 save percentage. He is also 5 wins away from reaching 300 in his career.
We personally are huge fans of this deal and it's a deal that had to be done. The list of UFA Goaltenders on July 1st is really weak. Good move by GMJR to get this done early before it was too late. The GMJR Approval Rating keeps growing as each hour goes by.
