In 37 Days....

As you may have read 5 minutes ago, we missed 38 so today is 37 days away before the Penguins host BBQ Bruce and the Ducks from Anaheim at the Corporate Entitlement Country Club Consol Energy Center at 7:08 PM right after Jeff Jimerson decides to sing us sweet music from his lungs.

And if its not Jeff Jimerson, its definitely the beautiful Eat-N-Park girl, Sarah Marince.

As with the number 38, there have been Ten players wearing the number 37 in Pittsburgh Penguins history. Those ten players are Justin Duberman, Greg Andrusak, Kip Miller, Tom Kostopoulos, Mikael Samuelsson, Bill Thomas, Brian Strait's beard, and Jeff Zatkoff.

Jarkko Ruutu

Jarkko Ruutu was selected in the 3rd round of the 1998 NHL Draft by the Vancouver Canucks (#FireRammer). Ruutu's career before July 4, 2006 is irrelevant because that's when he signed as a Free Agent with the Penguins. Ruutu played 152 games over 2 seasons while tallying 13 goals and 19 assists. He also had 263 Penalties In Minutes as a Penguin and was a +3 since everyone loves the +/- stat. 

Ruutu isn't gonna be remembered much for goal scoring as a Penguin as much as his role playing. Here's some clips of his short two years as a Penguin.

We don't have much more on Jarkko except he's a Finn, so he's already +1 in our books. Seriously though, if you get a chance, go down YouTube on a trip down memory lane from the 08 Finals run and 09 Cup run, you'll never regret it.
